Blu-ray Releases Of Interest For 8/4/15
Every week Scream Blu Fans! showcases the Blu-ray releases of the week that interest us and we think will interest you. Check out this weeks releases of interest below:
For the release date of 8/4 there was only two Blu-ray releases of interest and they both came out from Scream Factory. Here they are:
This film has a lot of excitement built up for it before its Blu-ray release. Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead is described as a refreshing and new zombie film that, as the cover states, is a mix of Mad Max and Dawn of the Dead. This influences seem obvious when reading what the story in the film is. The story is about a post apocalyptic landscape where a meteor breaks up over Earth and turns most people into zombies, with only a few unaffected. One of those survivors is Barry who doesn't have much left besides his sister Brooke. One day she is kidnapped be a psychotic "doctor" who experiments on people. Her brother quickly teams up with other survivors to resume his sister. At the same time his sister discovers that the doctor may have given her strange powers through the experiments. Overall the film sounds like an exciting horror/action combo with very distinct influences.

The second and final Blu-ray release of interest this week from Scream Factory is Toolbox Murders 2. This film is a sequel to Tobe Hooper's 2004 remake of Toolbox Murders and picks up directly after the events in that film. This film follows Samantha, the sister of the victim in the first film, as she becomes the new prey of the killer. Captured and held captive in a house of horrors, Samantha must endure horrifying tortures with little hope of escape. Overall this sounds like it could be potentially interesting, though I am not sure how dependent this film is on the first one which could be a problem for those that either have not seen the first film or did not enjoy the first film. If you have seen and enjoyed the first film then this film might be worth checking out
