For the release date of 6/23/15 there was 7 Blu-rays of interest released. One from Scream Factory, one from Arrow Video, two from Kino Lorber Studio Classics, one from Scorpion Releasing / Kino Lorber, one from Olive Films, and one from Artsploitation Films. Here they are:
From Scream Factory this week comes the long awaited arrival of the Collector's Edition Blu-ray release of Dog Soldiers. This is a great werewolf film from the early 2000's. This films will fit on the shelf of any fan of werewolf films and most horror fans in general. This release looks to be pretty jam packed thanks to the director's direct involvement in the release. There is some well known controversy in regards to the image quality of the release but if you don't already have the previous Blu-ray release than this one is worth picking up.

From Arrow Video this week is their release of Pit Stop. This is a essentially the same release as their U.K. version but this is instead Region A. There is also another version of this title coming out from Code Red, you can check it out Here. The two different releases from two different companies has come about because a dispute on who owns the rights. The Arrow Video version was licensed from the director Jack Hill and the Code Red version was licensed from the producer Roger Corman. Either way a cool cult classic has received two quality releases.

The next release of interest is Needful Things released by Kino Lorber Studio Classics. This is a Stephen King adaptation and will likely to appeal to fans of his. This looks to be a interesting film featuring some great actors and an intriguing storyline about a small town having more problems than one would think, especially when some new people show up. This definitely looks more like a serious and atmospheric film rather than straight up horror. Either way it looks to be a solid film that should appeal to a lot of people.

The next release of interest is The Island of Dr. Moreau and was also released by Kino Lorber Studio Classics. This film is another take on the H.G. Wells novel and is a pretty solid adaptation as far as we see it. The best thing this adaptation has going for it is Burt Lancaster playing the role of Dr, Moreau. Overall this is a solid adaptation worth checking out, especially if you are interested in mad scientists and crazy animal/human hybrids.

This next release of interest is Sugar Hill and it is released by a collaboration between Scorpion Releasing and Kino Lorber. The storyline of the film is about a woman using undead zombies to get her revenge on the crime boss and men who killed her boyfriend. This cool blaxploitation/horror combo is likely to interest a lot of fans. Definitely worth checking out.

The next release of interest is The Thing With Two Heads and it comes to Blu-ray from Olive Films. This cheesy cult film features a crazy and fun storyline that brings about the head of a rich bigot white man being attached to the body of a black death row inmate. This looks to be a weird film that is likely to be of the hit or miss variety. Either way it sounds interesting enough to check out.

The last release of interest is a newer film titled Horsehead and it is released by Artsploitation Films. This is a film that has had a lot of great things said about it. The film is a surreal horror-fantasy that pays tribute to directors like Dario Argento and Mario Bava. As a result this might not appeal to everyone as it seems to be less straight forward horror and is instead more surreal and stylistic. This film seems to be generating a lot of positive buzz so it is probably worth checking out to see for yourself.
