Today Scream Factory formally announced the joint release of The Babadook. Scream Factory along with IFC Midnight will be putting out The Babadook on multiple different editions on April 14th. The film will be released in three different versions. A standard DVD, a standard Blu-ray (shown above), and a special edition Blu-ray with limited and exclusive pop-up packaging.
The special edition will feature the following exclusive extras:
- Director Approved Limited Run "Pop-up Book" slipcover packaging. (The inside cover will be the same as the standard edition.)
- Jennifer Kent's Short film Monster
- Deleted scenes
All the editions will feature the following extras:
- Cast and Crew interviews and a look behind the scenes of the making of The Babadook:
- Creating The Book with illustrator Alex Juhasz
- A tour of the house set
- The Stunt: Jumping the stairs
- Special Effects: The Stabbing Scene
- Theatrical Trailers
